Slow Morning

1. Me an my friends at Kauppakadun appro 2&3. Some pies that I made. The first one is a veggie pie and second one is a shrimp pie. Yammyy:). 4. My favorite spot in my home. Notice that I've gotten rid of those colorful pillows and gotten beige ones instead. 5. My unhealthy breakfast yesterday. 6. Me waiting for my parents to arrive, again, yesterday.

I finally got a washing machine! My parents brought it to me yesterday, and H was also with them. Though the washing machine is standing now in the middle of my bathroom so that there is barely any room to walk around it to the sink or bath tub, but the main thing is that it is there! Woohouuu, I feel like screaming and dancing around. This means no more carrying heavy luggage to my parents every other week. No more do I have to wait two weeks to get my favorite shirt washed if it gets stained. And no more forgetting or not forgetting to pack socks with me when I leave. The washing machine will not stand in the middle of the bathroom the whole time, don't worry. I just need a little longer cord for it, and I will pick it up next week end. Till then just have to keep dancing around the machine.

Sain vihdoinkin pyykinpesukoneen! Vanhempani ja Herminica toivat sen minulle eilen. Tällä hetkellä pesukone valitettavasti seisoo keskellä kylpyhuonetta, niin että pääsen hädin tuskin ammeeseen tai käsienpesualtaalle, mutta pääasia on, että se kone vihdoin ja viimein on siellä! Tekisi mieli kirkua ja tanssia ympäri huonetta, sillä tätä on odotettu vain kaksi vuotta. Enää minun ei tarvitse kantaa painavaa matkalaukullista likaista pyykkiä vanhemmilleni joka toinen viikonloppu, tai odottaa sitä kahta viikkoa että saan lempipaidastani tahran pestyä, tai muistaa/unohtaa ottaa sukkia mukaani aina kun lähden porukoiltani. Pesukone ei tietenkään tule seisomeen tuossa keskellä kylpyhuonetta pysyvästi. Sähköpiuha oli vain valitettavasti liian lyhyt, joten ensi viikkoon asti on vain taiteiltava tieni pesukoneen ympäri.

Btw, I feel like a rebel right now. I am not really allowed to hang up anything on the walls here in my apartment, but since I have already lived two years here and planning to stay for three more, I just can't look at these boring walls for whole five years! So me and my dad hang up some picture frames on the walls yesterday. They are still empty, but looking at them empty like this just gets my inspiration flying and reminds me all the time to get them filled. This place is finally starting to look and feel like a home. And finally the "my first home" kind of a scenario is beginning to step aside and the decoration is starting to resemble me and my style.

Tunnen muuten oloni aika kapinalliseksi juuri nyt. Minullahan ei ole lupaa laittaa asuntoni seinille mitään ja tällainen käytäntöhän on aika yleistä vuokra-asunnoissa. Olen kuitenkin asunut tässä samaisessa asunnossa jo kaksi vuotta ja näillä näkymin minulla on vielä kolme edessä. Joten päätin etten aio katsoa noita tylsiä seiniä kokonaiset viisi vuotta. Niinpä ripustimme eilen isäni kanssa seinille kaksi isoa valokuvakehystä, jotka tosin tällä hetkellä ovat vielä aivan tyhjillään. Mutta eivätköhän nuo tyhjät valokuvakehykset muistuta minua päivittäin niiden täyttämisestä. Tämä asunto alkaa vihdoinkin näyttää ja tuntua kodilta. Pikkuhiljaa myös se "ensimäinen asuntoni" -leima alkaa häipyä täältä ja sisustus alkaa vähitellen muistuttamaan minua ja tyyliäni.

Today I am looking forward to not moving anywhere from my apartment. I've been awake for two hours already and still haven't made to the shower. I just love days like this when you don't have to rush anywhere and if you don't feel like taking a shower right after getting out of bed, well you don't have to! And I really hate morning showers, I'm more of an evening shower kind of a girl. I just love taking a hot shower and after it just taking a blanket and cup of tee or hot chocolate, and just curling on the couch to watch movies while my hair dries out. This way I get to sleep a little longer in the mornings!

Tänään pyrin siihen, etten joudu poistumaan asunnoltani kertaakaan. Olen ollut hereillä jo kaksi tuntia enkä ole vieläkään saanut aikaiseksi kömpiä suihkuun. Rakastan tällaisia hitaita aamuja, jolloin mitään ei ole pakko tehdä heti herättyä. Ehtiihän sitä iltapäivästäkin! Muutenkin vihaan aamusuihkuja. Olen enemmän iltasuihku-tyyppiä. Rakastan myöhäisillan kuumia suihkuja, joiden jälkeen voin käpertyä viltin ja kuuman teen tai kaakaon kanssa sohvalle katsomaan leffoja siksi aikaa että hiukset kuivuvat. Tällä tavoin saan myös nukkua pidempään aamuisin!

Crispy Autumn

Lovely Autumn, so lovely. All these colors, cold snails on the rocks that have been washed my the rain, thick scarves and soft knits, warm blanket and calm atmosphere, candles and the raindrops against the window, hot tea next to my cocoa drink, two pairs of feet wrapped around each others, 

joy and smile, thick and warm sheets and long sleeps at mornings, gentle awakening by my bright light bulb and a morning glow, fresh air and red cheeks. All that can be crowned by the feeling of relief that was followed by the moment we found our new home. It is just so relaxing to know that the search is over and we have to only move in now to the place that is locates 200 meters from my current home. It was about the time to found it because I have been missing laying on my bed all alone like a starfish, without the little kung fu panda next to me (my sister) :). 

I will also try to stay in love with all this like I am now even on those early mornings when I have to wake up and go to the Uni by bike and feel that icy and moist whiplash on my morning face and notice that my mascara is all over it because the new mascara I bought with 30 euros from Kanebo (Sensai 38 degrees) is the only mascara I have ever been allergic to (Does anyone know what I am talking about?). I guess I have to settle down with those that cost ten euros less and keep running down on my morningface-gymface-joggingface- and labface. Perfect! :D I just have to keep my nightly discussions in mind (yes I do speak while I'm sleeping): The winter is only a icy dog's lick, it doesn't mean bad when it licks and freezes up everyone it loves. You just can't be angry to it. Yes, now you know that you just can't... Or can you?

Syksy on ihanaa. Nää kaikki värit, kylmät etanat sateenpiiskaamilla kivillä, paksut kaulaliinat ja pehmeät neuleet, lämpöinen viltti ja rauha, kynttilät ja ropina vasten ikkunaa, lämmin tee ja kaakao vierekkäin, kaksi paria jalkapöytiä toisiinsa kietoutuneina, ilo ja hymy, paksut ja lämpimät lakanat ja pitkät unet, kirkasvalolampun lempeä herätys ja aamun kajo, raikas kirpeä ilma ja punaset posket. Kaiken tuon kruunaa se helpotuksen tunne, mikä on seurausta uuden kodin löytymisestä. Niin rentouttavaa kun etsintä on loppu, edessä on vielä kuukauden päästä muutto n. parinsadan metrin päähän ja oma rauha. On tässä jo alkanut olemaan jo ikävä sitä että saa maata meritähtenä yksin omassa sängyssä ilman vieressä kung fu- ta harjoittavaa siskoa (kaikella rakkaudella =) ). 

Koitan myös ylläpitää tämän rakastuneen olotilan niinä kasin aamuina, kun täytyy herätä pölkemaan sateessa yliopistolle ja tuntee sen jäisen ja kostean piiskansivalluksen vasten lämmintä aamunaamaa, huomaa että ripsarit on taas pitkin poskia koska uusi 30 euroa maksanut Kanebon Sensai 38 astetta aiheuttaa allergisen reaktion (muilla samoja kokemuksia?). Tyydytään siis niihin kympin halvempiin, jotka on joka päivä ympäri aamunaamaa-salinaamaa-lenkkinaamaa- ja labranaamaa. Täydellistä :D Koitetaan pitää mielessä mun unihöpinäfilosofiat (kyllä, minä puhun unissani): Talvi on vaan jääkoiran lipaisu, ei se tarkoita pahaa kun se nuolaisee ja jäädyttää kaiken mistä se pitää. Ei sille voi olla vihainen. Niin, ei sille vaan voi olla... Eihän?

Weekend at Stockholm

I haven't been posting the whole summer. The reason for that is that I just did not have anything to say. Mostly I just slept and worked. It wasn't much of a summer for me, I should say. Luckily I did get some rest when we visited Croatia and Bosnia in the end of August, but more about that trip in another post.

This weekend I went to Stockholm with my parents. It was just a one day trip, but it was still enough to get us on a holiday mood. We walked around the city the whole day, visited gift shops, sat at cute little cafeterias, walked in parks and of course went shopping! It was quite a long day after sleeping only couple of hours the night before, but it was worth it! And the beauty of the city kept us awake.

One good side in Stockholm is that there are lot of people from ex Yugoslavia. In Finland there is not so much of us, and I rarely run into people who speak our language. Actually I never ran into them unless they belong to my family. But in Stockholm we saw lot of people who spoke the same language as we. It was quite funny actually, because we were so not used to hearing other people speak our language that we couldn't help our selves from staring! All I could think was "wow, you are one of us! Did you notice that I am too?" Sounds quite sad actually.

Yesterday we spent the whole day at Ikea and few items ended up in my apartment too. I got few new pillows, a standard lamp, a vase and a new laundry bag (since I am finally getting a washing machine!). I also bought two new picture frames and the new project is to get them filled with something. I already have couple of ideas and I can't wait to get started :).

Back

Such exciting times we are living now. Our roadtrip ended in the end of August, we came back as rested, tanned and happy. I have to go through all the photos and make some new posts for you too. Soon... As soon as it possible is to do now. I'm in a hurry with my studies, gym, moving back to Kuopio and searching a new apartment for me and my sister Sabina. It is a little challenge to find one that is in a good condition and not going to the plumbing renovation. We are even ready to renovate other rooms for ourselves as we have done earlier, but the bathroom and the kitchen must be done. All we have to do now is to keep on searching and keep our fingers crossed for The One! Soon will we be able (or rather must...? :D) to move, decorate and continue our normal everyday life with no worries :)

Now it's all about new semester at the Uni, gym, jogging outside and stretching, cooking, keeping up our cafe culture from the summer and spending some quality time with my love ones. Of course I work from time to time and study hard too ;) The end of the summer is just so beautiful time of the year! And no autumn is not here for me yet ;)

Hirmuinen hullunmylly menossa täällä. Reissulta rantauduttiin jo elokuun viimeisenä päivänä levänneinä, ruskeina ja iloisina. Täytyy vielä käydä kuvat läpi ja ilostuttaa teitäkin niillä, kunhan saa hetken aikaa! Omaan yksiööni muuton jälkeen Kuopioon on työn alla ollut uuden asunnon etsintä mulle ja pienimmälle siskolle Sabinalle. Homma on hiukan haastava, kun lähes kaikki isot kaksiot/pienet kolmiot on joko pohjaratkaisultaan huonoja ja kerrostalot on menossa vuorotellen nyt keskustassa putkiremonttiin. Sen alle ei haluta, vaan etsitään täydellistä kotia meille taas mielummin vaikka vähän pintaremppaillaan sitä itse, kunhan pohja toimii ja sijainti osuu nappiin. Täytyy nyt vaan pidellä sormia ristissä ja toivoa parasta että Se Oikea tulee vastaan! :) Pian sitten pääseekin (vai joutuuko sittenkin... :D ) muuttopuuhiin, sisustamaan ja jatkamaan omaa arkea huoletta :)

Nyt kuvioissa on vaan yliopiston uusi syksy, sali ja lenkkipuuhat venyttelyineen, kokkailuja, kahvilakulttuurin ylläpitoa kesältä ja rakkaiden kanssa laatuajan viettoa. Toki arkeen (kirjotin äsken loman... tietää mitä yliopisto-opiskelut mulle tuntuu olevan :D) mahtuu sillontällöin myös töitä ja tunnollista opiskelua :) Kyllä loppukesä vaan on kaunista aikaa, ehei mulla ei ole vielä syksy ;)

Pipefest 2013

And there they come! All happy girls and boys, festival atmosphere, boaters, bubbly drinks,sunbathing, alight moose head, good music, cozy life at cottage, sun, warmth, incredible ideas, beautiful views from Musta rinne as a reward for climbing up, red nails, smell of the grill, breakfasts at a sunny terrace, waiting, board games and the best moves and sing-alongs at the show- almost all of this was captured with camera and now we can say that we are many experiences richer, well done eaten and hydrated haha. Those four days were incredible and if you ask me someday about this July this is the moment I will remember for sure. Though we all got a fewer that lasted for one day seasoned with the head ache and sweaty nights. But as usual if you have something nice and special to do you won't even notice that you are sick and it happened to us all again. Bugs had to give up and wave their white flag. Well done us! It wasn't all happy though, don't get me wrong... there was one morning when hungry girls woke up and went to the fridge to see that somebody had stolen their food and drinks... then there were mad and hungry girls...)!

Because all this was so nice H had to get a souvenir from the hill. At this moment there is a 60 cm's long wooden stick on my dresser... Let's say that I got inspired. I will find it a place from my and Sabina's new home we are still searching for from Kuopio. Before all that fun we will be blessed with around moving out and in we still have one more trip to experience! We are heading to our trip on tomorrow night! Summer and south, home, sun and see here we come again! ;)

Tässä niitä tulee! Nimittäin iloisia tyttöjä ja poikia, festarifiilistä, olkihattuja, kuplivia juomia, auringonottopyyhkeitä, valaistuja hirvenpäitä, hyvää musiikkia, leppoisaa mökkielämää, aurinkoa, hellettä, uskomattomia ideoita, Mustan rinteen maisemia kiipeilyn palkinnoksi, lakattuja varpaita, grillituoksuja, terassiaamiaisia, odottelua, seurapelejä ja parhaita keikkatunnelmia- tämä melkein kaikki ikuistettuna, montaa ihanaa hetkeä rikkaampana ja hyvin syöneenä ja juoneena hehe. Oli taas mahtavat neljä päivää lomaa heinäkuun lopussa ja jos jokin asia heinäkuulta jäi mieleen niin ne olivat nämä päivät. Saatiin kyllä kaikki joku maaginen parin päivän pikaflunssa kuumeineen ja päänsärkyineen, hikiöineen ja kaikkineen, mutta jotenkin kummassa kiva tekeminen tuppaa aina parantamaan sairaat ja saamaan pöpöt heiluttamaan valkoista lippua. Niin kävi tälläkin kertaa. Voitto kotiin kaikin puolin siis (Ellei lasketa sitä maagista hetkeä kun herättiin ja huomattiin että a. nälkäisten tyttöjen ruuat oli syöty ja b. myös osa juomista oli juotu ja niiden pullotkin oli kadonnu.... Mökissä oli vähän raivokkaita tyttöjä siis sinä aamuna ja muutama astetta kylläisempi mökissä ja astetta paremmin nesteytetty jossakin teillä tuntemattomilla)!  

Koska reissu oli niin kiva kaikkine käänteineen oli H:n pakko ottaa myös muisto rinteen huipulta, tällä hetkellä lipaston päällä on n. 60 cm pituinen harmaa keppi... iski sisustusinspis! Sen voi sitten iskeä Sabinan kanssa Kuopioon muutettaessa uuden kämpän seinälle (kyllä tälläset on pläänit, kolmio edelleen hakusessa!) Ennen sitä vasaraleikkiä ja muuttamisen iloa meitä odottaa huomisyönä eräs erittäin ihana asia... Evin ja Sabin työt loppui jo sunnuntaina ja H.n viimeinen duunipäivä on huomenna. Tämän jälkeen pakataan kimpsut ja kampsut ja lähdetään reissuun taas 15-31.9 ajaksi! Meillä on kesä ;)! Jännittää, ihanaa!
