Different kinds of dreams / Unia vai unelmia?

Photos from last summer in Dubrovnik / Viime kesän kuvia Dubrovnikista

I was dreaming about living with my whole family at our relatives place in this historical city of Dubrovnik, Croatia located at the beautiful Adriatic sea. The sun was shining to the yard where lemon and orange trees were growing wildly and we all were gathered by the wooden table my grand uncle had made under the rich winery. There was plenty of food, such as almond pie, freshly made limunada sweetened with the honey my uncle produces himself, freshly picked fruits from the garden, such as melons, pomegranates, plums and grapes. Freshly baked bread made from poppy seeds was bought earlier from the bakery next door and it was filled with fresh tomatoes, such kind have never been seen in the North. Traditional Trapista cheese was brought from the city of Travnik on Bosnia's side by my uncle when he visited it. Trapista cheese had arrived to the area at the time when Ottomans Empire reached the Balkans. In addition, there were pancakes made of buckwheat and they were decorated with honey and Turkish-like yogurt. The scent of strong Bosnian coffee served from copper ware made us all smile. The sound of locusts was all around us and my grand uncles wife was watering her garden with a smile on her face. Elder blind cat was making circles around our feet. Bikinis were hanging on the string waiting for us to take them swimming in so crystal clear sea, where even the sea cucumbers lived. To sea, where little zebra fish swam and you could collect sea urchins if you only dove deep enough. The sun was gentle, water refreshing and shores made of white limestone glowed from the light. My bruschetta was on its way to my mouth when it happened; I woke up having my sunglasses on my face from one of my many beds, but this one was located in Finland. At which point did something went wrong? I'm confused.

A wonderful week / Hyvä viikko

Pictures of my everyday life through Instagram :) /Oman arkeni kuvia Instagramin kautta :)

Why are so many of us cursing the Monday? Those Monday and Friday slogans and memes are something we all are familiar with. I dare to say that we know them too well. Monday- you have been doomed to be a black sheep among you 7 siblings for no reason. All I have to say to you Friday is that the true stars shine only by lifting the others as high as you go and there You have failed. Why? /

Miksi?

I have understood many years from now that the days of the week have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of life you are living, how happy you are nor even with how you're doing right now. I do not get any kind of satisfaction when Friday comes due to the fact that I love every single moment of the day of my week. What is actually wrong is the way we relate to our days and everyday life. We tend to dress 5 days of a week into a Sprinter costume; 100 % of focus, tunnel vision on and set the target to that goal, reward and the only thing that motivates us: the weekend. O boy Friday. Life becomes made quite soon 71, 4 % of sprints against the time- by time I mean your living time while happiness, free self-realization and joy get only 28,6 % of that time. Are those really the numbers that show us how _much_ we appreciate ourselves? If you'd live to your 80's, those percentages would mean that 57 years of your life would be sprinting and to the things you sprint for remains only 23 years. How appealing yeah? I think it is not. My mom did not push me through all that pain to this world to wave for those numbers. Every minute you spend as a sprinter takes one minute away from the life that you want to have./

Voihan Perjantai. Elämästä tulee aika nopeasti 71,4 % :sesti pikajuoksua aikaa vastaan- siis elinaikaasi vastaan. Länsimaiselle onnelle, vapaalle itsensä toteuttamiselle ja ilolle jää loput vaivaiset 28,6 %. Tuonko verran me itseämme tosiaan arvostamme? Jokainen kilpajuoksumoodilla eletty minuutti vie yhden pois papukaijamerkin arvoiselta elämältä.

Your everyday life and weekends are a direct reflect of you and your attitude towards your life and choices you've made. Your life consists of choices and you alone are the one who influences them. If Monday and other four "work days" symbolize to you those morning coffees that you slurp down in a hurry you should really stop and think. I truly believe that life is what we make it to be. Why not to live the way it makes you satisfied? You have chosen a path and you can either enjoy it or change it. Do not only settle to the things you've got. Complaining is not a part of a change. Confining yourself doesn't make you nor turn those 57 sprinting years to happy ones. Your aim should be to live the way you can enjoy all the 7 days without giving them bad or good- stamps. They should all be equally good so that you can say you're living a good and happy and most importantly life that you are satisfied with. /

Perhaps next week Monday could make you smile and Friday would not be only about waiting "Soon it is over!" Monday is the one who starts your weeks for the rest of your life. It always gives you week's worth of time. ...and that's only if you let it give instead of taking. /

Ehkäpä ensi viikolla Maanantaikin voisi saada hymyn huulillesi ja Perjantai ei olisi pelkkää odottamista "Kohta tää loppuu!" Maanantai aloittaa kuitenkin viikkosi koko loppuelämäsi ajan.

Welcome to my everyday life / Tervetuloa arki

Here I am again! By here I mean back in Finland. Hot, wonderful and sunny summer changed to a chilly finish autumn in a few hours that we spent in the plain. I was shivering the whole trip from Helsinki to Kuopio in my shorts and sandals- saying hello to knits and woolen socks! It's just so unfair that the rest of Europe has the privilege of enjoying the warm summer atmosphere so much longer. They even have all the same four seasons of the year so what do they really miss? Nothing. We on the other hand can make ourselves believe that the halogens are the only light that this planet has to offer for a few months.

This trip we made back to home to the area of the former Yugoslavia (this time it included Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia) and Italy really was good for us. We could relax, laugh and have fun, make adventures and feel like home the whole time. Small talking, good company and the best food and drinks on this planet - those calm moments spiced up with the more outgoing ones.

Tämä reissu kotiin entisen Jugoslavian alueelle (tällä reissulla niistä valtioista käytiin Bosnia-Hertsegovinassa, Kroatiassa ja Sloveniassa) ja Italiaan teki taas uskomattoman hyvää. Rentoutui, sai nauraa ja iloita, seikkailla ja tuntea olevansa koko ajan kotona, small talkit, hyvä seura ja maailman parasta ruokaa ja juomaa - rauhallisia hetkiä niiden villeimpien maustamana.

I had also a chance to think my life and how I want to spend it during the trip. I have always known that Finland is not the place I want to stay. I have a lot of reasons and I won't even start to list all of them down here. One of the most important to me is the possibility to "charge my batteries" somewhere else more often than it's able from and in here. I want to be able to say that is is a day even on winter and I want more to be happening around me. I want to live somewhere between my both homes north and south. That's because I want to be able to travel wherever I feel like going when ever I want and my heart desires. That is just not possible thing to do as often as I am planning if I'd stay living in Finland. You just couldn't fit a weekend abroad while working at the same time or having kids.

Thank god I already have one plan that's cheering me up all the time! Evi is moving to Graz in Austria for the next five months and this girl is going there for a few weeks in the middle of the winter! Of course we are also planning to travel a little around and even go to Bosnia and Croatia to see for the first time in our adult life what it looks like in there during the winter. That's going to be awesome! This summer trip was so good for us in many different ways and it really loaded our batteries for the dark period in Finland. With all this energy I am having now I will be able to study this year at the university and complete my first year of masters degree in biomedicine! I could also finish up my Bachelor's thesis and press the final send button. I have so many plans and even more stuff to do. I had set myself new goals and it is time to switch the buttons from PLANNING TO DO to DOING position.

Olen asettanut itselleni muutamia tavoitteita ja on aika vaihtaa nappulat vihdoin ja viimein asentoon DOING nykyisen PLANNING TO DO :n sijasta.

Live the life you love, Love the life you live

Travelling the world- In Sarajevo

Meeting random people- making the best choices

Spending time with your family- having a random boat trip

Doing the silly things with your friends

Enjoying the little things- feeling the fresh and cooling grass on your skin

Making something special and different every day - Eating B&J on the 6th floor

Accomplishing something in your life!

Meeting those who are not there everyday

Having a friend who does the silly things with you...:D

Enjoying the moments and feeling like home

Feeling the amount of happiness, excitement, love, joy... every positive feeling at the same time and giggling the entire time!

Having those friends who are like a rock to you, the childhood ones.

Doing something the most people assume impossible, feeling the endorphine running through you

Doing something that you love- having a day off

I´ve decided to put those words on my wall to remind me of the pretty little things in my life every single day. I try to make everyday special. It can be done by decorating my meals, lighting up candles, painting, going for a run, watching a Disney movie, playing the guitar, getting and giving a warm hug... Making special days can be that easy but it can feel like it´s impossible thing to do on some days. Especially on those when you are in such a hurry and all obligations are knocking on the door, on days you look at the mirror and see an ugly person or on days you feel like betrayed or sad. That´s why I have my motivation-good thoughts- calendar. I just love it. I can write poems, draw pictures, make it colorful, put motivating and good thoughts in it, write at least one positive thing in it during a day or just use it as my diary. And trust me I do it every day. It´s a well deserved moment for myself. If you are not willing to change things, grab the bad luck by it's horns, go through your problems or do something for a better future you won´t get it. It's just that simple. No  whining nor not believing in yourself is going to bring you any closer to the happiness. Write at least one positive thing to a paper every single day, put those little papers in a "happy-jar" and wait... Your way of seeing the world will differ and you will change- your brain will change- your life will change.

Days can be special even by planning something great for them. I love those days that don´t feel like everyday pampering but sometimes your day can be special only because you can and know how to love. I do love this day and the moments that have led into this. Without those special moments non of this would be  possible and that's something I would love to write not only on my walls but also across the road signs, buildings walls, school boards... That´s love and it makes me happy.

Something about me

People have asked me a lot about my life. What and why? How and when? Well I decided to write you  a first post with answers to those questions that will help you to understand me. First topic will be nutrition and sports.

Me when I had almost nothing around my bones- 2007.

Children don´t crave for unhealthy food if they are not taught to!
I was born in a place where we had enough land to grow our own vegetables and fruits, some of our neighbors were farmers and my granny had chickens so we had always eggs and fresh meat and milk. All those supplements were organically grown, they had a happy and free life and enough sun and water to grow. Then we moved the food changed because now it had to be bought mainly from the supermarkets. My parents have always know how to cook. My dad was a master who wanted to improvise so our food has been diverse, healthy and delicious and we weren´t allowed to drink coke, eat in mc donalds or eat chips and other unhealthy food- it was allowed only in special occasions. Still as I grew up I had problems with food. I didn´t really like whey and unhealthy stuff- the only thing I liked was chocolate and I could manage without it even for 6months. So that part of my nutrition was ok. Children don´t crave for unhealthy food if they are not taught to! If their role models eat good stuff- they will copy that.

Problems I faced up as a teen
I had my growth peak at age 9. I was 159cm then- now I´m only 160cm tall. So I was always one of the tallest and physically most matured girls... Well my weight was 54kg's when I was on 7th grade. And I was a little chubbier than now- not that it was anything that people could notice but my body composition was a bit different than now when I weight 52,5kg's. I was really happy and active person, I started dancing at age 7, played outdoors a lot, volley ball and played the guitar, I had my first boyfriend and I was always the best student in my school. So everything seemed great! At the age of 16 I didn't even notice that I started so skip meals- when it was bed time I remembered that I haven't eaten anything or that I only had one banana/one meal in my stomach from that day. That´s when my weight came down to 42kg's. I had to buy myself smaller jeans- that was great but I had lost my ass and my boobs. That's what really woke me up. Why did I have to be as skinny as my sister Evi? We all three have different body types- I´m the mixture of E and S. And one person I had adored my whole life wanted me and S to be as skinny as E was. So we two were feeling like two fat children even If my BMI was always normal or less. Then one day when I faced problems with my knees I had to stop dancing... I was really upset because that was something I loved more than anything. Doctors said I shouldn't walk more than 1000 steps per day and that a surgery was my only option. I decided not to go throw it, but instead try acupuncture and get myself a personal trainer in the gym. THAT HELPED!

And again 2007
A fighter
I have always been interested in sports, health, nutrition and medicine and biomedicine. It was always my passion and it still is. That´s why I´m studying these things: I started with cell biology ans sports biology (I have this nature- drive too so I did study ecology and environmental science too...) Then I decided to switch to biomedicine, pharmacy and nutrition studies but I have also studied a lot about sports biology even now and I´m getting my Bachelors degree, and my Masters degree is already planned out too. :) I have always wanted to become a doctor- not the regular one who does what he is told to do, but who THINKS with his own brain and doesn't take anything for granted. I do not believe in the most of the drugs that are prescribed and even less I would like to prescribe stuff such as iron drug regimen to something that can be treated by natural appropriate means not to mention antibiotics... All this information I keep getting from school and science reviews just makes this hunger even bigger... and I won´t be tamed- this world needs TRUE information about the food they are eating and ways they can improve their health!

Difference is not something you should be ashamed of
My food problems are gone now and my workouts have improved a lot. I love this lifestyle I´m having now- I´m able to run again, lift weights, dance and I still stretch like a dancer has to! I tend to make working our a part of my life- it gives me so much back- a healthy body, a better feeling and lots of joy. Health doesn't come that easy- the biggest part is what you put in you. It includes food, drinks and even the drugs and chemicals you put on you as lotions or breath in your lungs. I have never been a smoker, it just gives me the creeps even to think about doing that to my own body and my looks.
I do not like alcohol either- it is something some of my friends do not really understand if they do not share the same opinion. I hate the taste of alcohol, I hate almost all alcohol drinks and I just don´t like the fact that alcohol really makes me feel bored! I´m much more happier person without drinking it, and it just prevents me from doing the things I love next day even if I have never had a hangover. I don´t understand why to put "poison" in my own body if don´t even like the taste of it? Why is it such a shame in western world to be healthy, and why should I as a student spend my money to something I don´t like when I could buy myself something I like with that money? I can say proudly that I don´t need alcohol to feel happy or to have the courage to dance on the table- I can do that the way that is not ruining up my tissues and storing pure and soft fat around my belly. If you drink it you won´t be able to do workouts for few days after it and everything you eat the second day will make you a new donut around your waist. Is it worth it that often? You don´t have to pretend that you like it if you don´t and make up any excuses, your friends should understand that their own lifestyle isn´t something others should be doing too. People who have the courage to be different are brave- no selfish nor "shy nerds who don´t know what the meaning of the fun is". One really important thing is my body image and my ideal body image. I dont like skinny models but healthy looking fitness bodies. I like it when people have curves!

My guidelines around food
- Eat organic, fresh, naturally grown food
- No white sugar not "light" stuff- I use muscovado and palm sugar, agave syrup or honey instead.
- Eat stuff with no gluten in it (the only that I do is whole grain rye) such as oats, quinoa, buckwheat, dark rice...
- Eat clean: No processed foods, artificials, chemically enhanced foods nor colorants. They are bad for you.
- Eat diverse foods, use a lot of herbs and spices and if I use salt I use Celtic sea salt.
- No trans-fats, I tend to use good fats by eating a lots of nuts etc. When I cook I only use cold pressed virgin olive and coconut oils. No others.
- I eat something every 3 hours: small amounts of healthy but delicious food. I get my carbs mainly from fresh vegetables, berries and fruits, and the gluten free "crops".
- I take care of my vitamin D3 supplements and I use vitamins, eat fish and use fish oil capsules.
- I get my vitamins from fresh food and "superfoods". Puhdistamo, CocoVi, FitnessFirst are the places where I buy my Maca, Cumu Cumu, Opti-MSM, Tulsi, Gojis etc from. (This is one thing I like to spend my money on...)
- When eating something sweet I usually eat chocolate or make something good by myself. Chocolate-avocado pudding for example is just great! :D
- I love fresh squeezed juices, water, tea and organic milk, organic milk has no antibiotic residues in it.
- Try new recipes- you won´t get bored to the great taste ;)
- Never think that you are on a diet- You should think that the food in front of you represents your life itself.

What have I learned from all this?
I have exact the same amount of money now than I had before: real food costs less than ready meals. I know what my food contains of and I feel much better now. I haven´t been sick since I renovated my eating habits and I have even more energy left now. I still do not think that I need alcohol at every party I go to. I love the fact that I know that this is the way I am ruining this planet less- no packing materials nor chemical industry needed, chickens have better life and foods I ear have better nutritional value and less calories. Yes this all makes me feel better, healthier and helps me gain my targets I have set to myself. And you know what? It´s never too late to start feeling better! :)

Good morning

I love mornings- especially the ones like this. You have the time for yourself, for a proper breakfast and for getting yourself ready. I spent yesterday by organizing my papers for physiology exam in the candle light. It really felt good. Even the studying is fun like this. :) Did I say one thing... I´m really addicted to that India- mix. Thank god it doesn´t contain any additives. They are pure poison to our bodies. The second food I´m addicted to is hot chocolate! I just have to drink at least one liter per day of it! :D At least Oboy has organic and the dark hot chocolate! The best one I´ve ever tasted was the one from Clipper... It really melted in my mouth... Damn I have to go and buy it again soon... I even dreamt about it... :D It´s much better to dream about hot chocolate than "tunas training rigs".... or "the magic baby- who lives in an old mans body and rapes babydolls..." Yep I know.

I have to go to the doc soon. I´m getting a tetanus again. After that to my swedish lessions! :) Bye!

Good and blue morning

okay a little odd facial expression  but you can see the sleeves on this one

Shirt from GT- I bought it + 2 panties with total 1,65€, I´m a lucky bastard (the real price would have been about 35€).

Good morning everyone, I had to woke up early to go to meet the doctor... I was about to shut my door and I left my middle finger between it... Now it´s blue and matches my shirt. I knew that something "bad" is about to happen when I woke up because of my nightmare again! I had broken my lower jaw somehow and because of that all of my teeth kept falling off. I concentrated to follow my falling teeth when I noticed that I had this big pregnant belly!! I don´t even want to think about the rest of the dream :D All I can say is that my belly was totally red and reminded me of a tomato... you can just keep guessing what I gave birth to...

Luckily I woke up with no such problems and now I´m sitting on my couch and eating my breakfast. I will study after this, then I have lectures at evening and after them I´ll meet Anni at Memphis. It´s going to be a nice day after all :) (I knew it that moment when I saw that little chihuahua jumping towards me and the old lady smiling, I walked back to my home with them =) I just adore kind old people and their animals :D ! I want a dog too... so badly!

Black holes

And again... I´m always dreaming about really odd things. I don´t know what kind of dreams people usually dream about, but mine... They consist of fairytales and Disney characters, danger, movie-scenes, random people, odd creatures, glittery trees, houses made of 10 other familiar homes to me (for excample every room can be from a different place in reality), I can split into two and speak to myself from both bodies, I can fly, dive without needing any oxygen, fight against bears or wolfs with my daggers that are always in my left boot or just fish and then notice that I have no shirt on and I keep getting really beautiful and colourful and glowing fish that talk to me and then I just pick them up and put in my bucket and take them to eat some ice cream with me or we can just take a cab to the moon and then talk about laws of physics together... Me and my fish. Yep I know.

This time my dream was just as random as always. I was in a random shopping center that looked like my previous University building at Jyväskylä. Then one of the popular bloggers came and asked me and my sisters and cousins to keep her company at this pretty odd bench...? I was located in the middle of this giant field and the grass was really tall. This bench had some kind of holes in it and this grass stack out of them. We all six sat on this little bench (how is that even possible with these butts we have?) and then those tassels of grass stack out from our crotches. We just held on to them with both hands like men usually do with their p's. Okay... it´s not over yet... We continued our journey to our old neighborhood from childhood and broke into our old home. New owners felt so sorry for us when we told them that we were homeless (yeah right- our plan worked!) that they gave us their balcony to live in (it was my favourite place in there). The landscapes I saw from there in that dream were something beyond the....everything. It was the mixture of everything; sea, mist, mountains, forests, glitter, rain, sun, rainbows, different colours, old castles, beach, islands....- and they all moved like if it was a track we watched. I wanted to take a picture of everything I saw but Elvira's camera worked like skates on the asphalt. Luckily I got this remote control to play and stop and to wind back everything by controlling the BLACK HOLE under the balcony!! It made the landscapes move and destroyed them like they usually do to the material that goes in them. Hell yea, what an imagination...

I think that I should try to find a dreamcatcher and let it do the magic. I do like all the weird things about my dreams but I could dream less about scary things. I guess that this old tradition of wise and old tribes could maybe help... or then just be a nice decoration on my wall... :D Maybe even some fairy dust could do the trick or then I just have to start opening these pandora boxes I get every evening I go to the bed and just keep guessing what´s about to happen this time... Exciting, scary and joyful thing to do.. :)

Good morning after a terrible night

I could not sleep at all last night. I had these terrible nightmares that kept me awake. In first one I was waiting for T to pick me up from the station. It was pitch black outside and no other people were there. Then suddenly I noticed this big bear staring at me. I´m totally afraid of them and I couldn´t hide. I had this one option and I climbed on the roof (I literally walked up the wall like in Chris Brown's music video). I noticed that bear was coming after me and I was in total panic. I don´t know what happened but suddenly I "remembered" that I had this Turkish dagger in my ugg- boot. I took it and started fighting against this big bear... Then I woke up. I calmed myself down and went to the kitchen to drink some water and look out. Then I returned to bed and the second one began... It was even more sick than the first one. I don't really know what happened and this one has no logic at all. I was coming back to my home and I said bye bye to Minna. Suddenly I noticed that there was this man's hand coming out of the wall behind my table and all the wires. He wanted to kill me because "Ilkka Kanerva was from the same city as I - (He is not in real life)- + he had noticed that I had a friend from Germany. Those two things were his motives. I took my shoehorn and slapped the hand with it, then the hand grabbed it and we pulled it back and forth. I was in total panic because the hole was bigger and bigger. I took my phone and dialed 911... Well my mom kept answering the phone all the time and she didn´t understood why I wanted to speak with a police man and not with her. The man came through the hole ans he wanted me to give him cherry fruits and legs for snack???

Yea I know, this sounds... well luckily I woke up. I couldn´t sleep after it so I made myself a hot chocolate and drank it from this happy iittala's mug. I love it. :) And ate some kiwi-fruits before going to school. Now I have to eat again and then study before my physics exam this evening :) Hope you had something better to dream about!
